Through his photographs, volunteer photographer Leo Tsang takes his audience to Gansu Province’s remote mountainous areas. There, you will meet several ‘left-behind children’ – children whose parent(s) have moved to the cities to find work. Through his lens, Leo shows what life is like for these children at school, in their impoverished rural villages and at home with their grandparents.

Leo hopes to use the language of photography to help the public better understand poverty and Oxfam’s work in mainland China. He also hopes to raise public awareness and garner support for left-behind children by telling their stories.
